Xomba is a free online community for people who like to write, comment, share ideas and make friends online. You provide the content, Xomba provides an audience.
Xomba gives you the ability to post five types of Articles: blogs, bookmarks, lists, recipes and reviews.
An Article is any piece of writing on Xomba. Every post on Xomba qualifies an article.
Blogs could be opinion pages, short stories, how-to guides, a news story or an essay on any subject you can think of.
Bookmarks allow you to share an interesting link with the rest of the Xomba community. Write a paragraph about a web site you find interesting, informative or just plain fun, and share the URL (web address).
A Top 5, 10, 15 or 20 list on any topic, like the Top 20 summer movies.
A list of ingredients and cooking instructions for your favorite culinary masterpieces.
Substantive criticism of movies, books, bands and their music, video games, art or anything else you can think of.
There is, yes. It varies based on what you are posting. Please keep in mind that these are only minimums for the articles to be successfully published.

Sorry, but we don't accept fiction or poetry on Xomba. If you are looking for a site on which to share your creative writing, take a look at WritersCafe.org.
Authors of Articles retain all rights to any articles they post on Xomba. In other words, you own whatever content you post on Xomba. You are allowed to add a Creative Commons license if you wish.
Categories are the basic organizing blocks of Xomba. Whenever you create an Article, you must select the most appropriate category under which it will be posted. You can view all of the categories on Xomba in the footer on every page.
Tags are keywords that are similar to categories. Tags allow you to describe your article so other people can easily find it, but in a more specific way than categories do. For example, if you are writing an Article about a vegetarian pasta recipe, logical tags might be: pasta, recipe, vegetarian, veggie pasta. Tags should always be separated with a comma.
When posting an Article, click the insert image button in the toolbar just above the text box. (It looks like a picture of a mountain.) This allows you to upload or hotlink any image you wish.
If you come across an Article or Bookmark that you feel violates our Posting Policies (including pornography, asking people to click their ads, plagiarism, personal harassment, references to illegal drug use, etc.), click the "Report This Post” button located in the gray box to the right of the Article. This sends an alert informing us of a possible violation. Please note that you must be logged in to flag a post.
Every post on Xomba has a Facebook “like” button in the upper right hand corner of the Article that allows you to show on your Facebook page that you liked a particular post.
When you are logged in, you will see a link that says “Recommend This Article” in the gray box to the right of the article. Click that link, and your followers will receive a notification in their activity feed stating you have recommended the Article. Your recommendation will also be saved in a tab called “My Recommendations” on your workspace.
We have a full how-to guide about editing your profile here.
We have a full how-to guide about our follow system here.
You may either comment on a user’s Articles or, if you are both following each other and that user has private messages turned on, you can send a private message.
When you post an Article, you are automatically subscribed to it. This means you'll receive an e-mail notification if someone comments on it or you edit it. You are also subscribed to any Article you comment on. This means you'll receive an email anytime someone comments on the Article or if the author edits the article.
The Xomba staff selects the Quote of the Day based on the originality of the quote. There is no set criteria, and there is not a way to submit your article. Xomba does not necessarily agree with the views and opinions of the author or the Article chosen for Quote of the Day.
If you want to delete an article, click "Edit" from the article page or from the article list in your workspace, and then click "Unpublish" at the bottom of the page. When you're done, you'll see that a copy of the article is still on Xomba, but it is only visible to you. This is so that you'll still have a copy of the article for your own records.
If you're sure you want to leave, click "Edit Account" on your workspace, and click "Cancel Account" at the bottom of the page. Confirm your decision, and your account will be deactivated.
Xomba uses Google AdSense on most of the pages on the site. Any posts made by the user will display targeted ads on his or her Article or Bookmark. Xomba automatically rotates ownership of the ads between users and the website. Sixty percent of the impressions will show your AdSense code, and 40 percent will show Xomba's. You are paid by Google when someone clicks on these ads. For information on setting up a Google AdSense account, clickhere.

We take plagiarism very seriously. If you feel a Xomba user has copied your work, we ask that you notify us here.
